Introduction to brain profiling.

FAQ

1. Where does Genetic Brain Organisation Profiling (BDP) come from?

Brain Dominance Profiling was developed by Dr Carla Hannaford (Neurophysiologist, educator and author of Smart Moves and The Dominance Factor) and Dr Paul Dennison (Founder of Brain Gym).

Dr Hannaford is a neurophysiologist and educator. She is a counsellor for elementary and intermediate school children with learning difficulties. She presents and trains internationally on the neural basis of learning and educational Kinesiology.

Paul E. Dennison, Ph.D., is a professional educator, a pioneer in the field of kinesiology, and an authority on the breakthrough attainment of cognitive and academic skills.

Dr Annette Lotter, (BA Ed, B Ed, M Ed, D Ed (Curriculum Studies), completed training as Edu-Kinesiologist with the Educational Kinesiology Foundation in 1993 with Dr. Marlize Basson and in 1996 with Dr. Carla Hannaford in Brain Gym and In-Depth Kinesiology. In 1993 she started her practice in South Africa as Edu- profilogist and training consultant. BrainCode Profilogist are trained under the guidance of Dr Annette Lotter, and the company collaborates with her in its operations.

2. When is my Genetic Brain Organisation Profile established, and can it change?

Your Brain Profile is what exists before you add life experience, job experience, learnt behaviour or education to your attributes. It is established at conception as part of your survival gene, and although you can learn to adapt your functioning through experience or learnt behaviour, your brain profile blueprint) remains constant over your lifetime.

The person who is fulfilled and functioning optimally in all the aspects of life, is likely to be the person who is operating in line with his or her genetic preferences.

3. Why is knowing my Genetic Brain Organisation Profile important?

Profiling gives you the information you need to understand and distinguish between your learned behaviour and the strengths and talents you are born with. It allows you to address areas for improvement, enhancing your professional success and social connections.  Additionally, profiling reveals your unconscious stressors and equips you with effective strategies to manage them.  Through customised guidance suited to your specific needs, it enables you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and unlock your potential.

4. How accurate is the assessment?

Compared to your typical interview (18% accurate), personality and interest tests (42% accurate) and ability / aptitude tests (58% accurate) for example, Genetic Brain Organisation Profiling is 90% accurate.

5. Can I manipulate the outcome of the assessment?

Since GBOP involves physical questions, it is free from biases that commonly influence psychometric assessments:

  • Candidates cannot manipulate the results to appear more favourable.
  • The results remain unaffected by the candidate’s emotional state during the assessment.
  • There is no need to interpret written questions, eliminating bias that may arise from taking an assessment in a language that is not the candidate’s native tongue.

6. What will your Profile reveal?

Firstly the genetic profile will indicate your

  •  Normal functioning: Confirms strengths and talents related to intellectual, perceptual, emotional and physical ability
  • How information is heard & seen: Assists in ascertaining one’s unique learning styles, potential barriers to learning while acknowledging areas of development.
  • Potential regarding the 12 intelligence’s – which intelligence’s the individual is born with and which ones needs deliberate development;
  • those skills and attributes that need deliberate development
  •  Concentration span;
  • Patience levels;
  • Hyperactivity;
  • Relevance and occurrence of daydreaming and possible attention deficit
  •  Interpersonal skills;
  •  Decision making preference;
  • Leadership and management styles
  • Ability to work as a team member
  •  Which sport and hobbies you will perform better in and
  • which career will match their profile best!

 Secondly the profile is relevant to determine the learners performance during stress and what is most likely to cause stress for the individual  During stress, the non-dominant side of the brain shuts down, taking with it any dominant parts governed by that side of the body.

7. From what age can I do an assessment:

Children as young as 4 can be assessed and the results are stable over a life-time. More importantly GBOP is not subject to bias such as age, education, emotional maturity or language ability.

8. Does the assessment need to be done in person?

The GBOP is determined either through an online-assessment or an in-person assessment. Both the online and the in-person assessments are simple, non-invasive and fun to do. We then make use of our modern technological methodologies and specific formulas, to identify the dominance of your 5 modalities, which make up the genetic profile.

9. Is there an ideal profile?

No, our world is home to a diverse range of individuals, each with unique minds, preferences and talents. Everyone is wired differently, and its far more valuable to focus on identifying and nurturing a person’s strengths rather than fixating on minor weaknesses.

BrainCode® enables individuals to unlock their full potential by identifying their unique talents and innate preferences across intellectual, perceptual, emotional, and physical domains.
